"Te Maioha o Parekarangi" - a gift to the people of the residence, to benefit them, as an inclusive gift from everyone.
24th July 2010 Social Development Minister Paula Bennett opened Te Maioha o Parekarangi our 30-bed, $47 million youth justice facility.
Te Maioha o Parekarangi Youth Justice Residence is a residence catering for young males aged from 13 to 17 years. Most are severely at risk with varied and complex needs.
The Ministry for Vulnerable Children is responsible for running the residence and Kingslea School provides education onsite for the young people. Parekarangi Farm is proud to provide the venue for their agricultural course needs.
